latimes:

“A Visit From the Goon Squad” was awarded the fiction prize from the National Book Critics Circle on Thursday evening, besting Jonathan Franzen’s widely publicized novel “Freedom” and works by David Grossman, Hans Keilson and Paul Murray.

We hear Egan’s novel is partially set in the historic Bay Area punk scene. And also includes PowerPoint slides! Has anyone read it? What do you think?

loved loved loved this book.

Definitely going to look into her stuff, but are they freaking serious about only including a photo of Franzen? Ugh.
